Jordan, a Proud Member of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, Seeks to Defeat Two-Term Incumbent Republican Sen.Risch
WASHINGTON, D.C.–People’s Action today endorsed Paulette Jordan in her bid to represent Idaho in the U.S. Senate. Jordan is running a movement politics, people-powered campaign and will continue to fight for the People’s Action People’s Platform after reelection. United Action for Idaho, a People’s Action member organization, also endorsed her.
“We need champions like Paulette Jordan who know what it’s like to be part of the multiracial working class and will fight for a government that works for us all,” People’s Action Director of Movement Politics Ryan Greenwood said. “Idahoans deserve someone who will stand up to the corporations and the wealthy, and People’s Action is proud to endorse the only candidate daring enough to do so.”
“Career politicians who are beholden to special interests and partisan politics have eroded our voices for decades. They say they are from Idaho, but they don’t know Idaho,” United Action for Idaho Executive Director Adrienne Evans said. “When Paulette Jordan is elected to the U.S. Senate this November, Idahoans will finally have the representation we deserve. She is of, by and for the people and she will champion our interests and that of our nation to ensure that we have a voice and a brighter future.”

Paulette Jordan is a proud member of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, and was raised to fight for the needs of her community and to protect the earth’s priceless natural resources. Growing up on a north Idaho farm and learning from her elders about land cultivation and preservation, she developed a strong connection to Idaho’s land and the people who share it. She is recognized in Idaho and across the nation as an inspirational and audacious leader.
“Over the past several years, as I have traveled our state, I’ve learned that Idaho needs new leadership. We need leaders who value people over politics and will listen. An endorsement by People’s Action would be a great honor for my campaign. People’s Action has constantly been a fighter for our country’s most critical political battles. Since 2016, People’s Action has built a reputation for supporting progressive candidates that put people over politics and believe that grassroots activism and organizing is the most effective way democracy thrives.
“As a People’s Action endorsed candidate in 2018 for the Democratic Nominee for Governor in Idaho, the resources and country-wide support helped to bring a distinguished relevance to our efforts and historic run. As the next U.S. Senator from Idaho, I would provide leadership for every Idahoan. I will work to re-engineer our government to prioritize fiscal conservatism, American prosperity and to ensure everyone has clean water to drink, adequate healthcare, and a world-class, affordable education,” Jordan said.
People’s Action’s Movement Politics program recruits, runs, and elects progressives into local and statewide offices across the country. Since 2016, People’s Action has helped elect over 350 movement politics candidates. The program focuses on electing women, people of color, and low-income people who are grounded in progressive movement building with our member organizations.
