Deep Canvassing: The Proven Method to Change Hearts and Minds! Do you want to have compassionate, non-judgmental conversations across lines of difference? We can show you how.

WASHINGTON, D.C.–People’s Action released the following statement in response to the horrific mass murder in Buffalo, New York, perpetrated by a white nationalist.

“We are horrified, heartbroken, and enraged at the news of the vicious attack on our neighbors and loved ones in Buffalo, New York. This racist attack is a pure example of evil. It’s also the predictable result of the relentless onslaught of white nationalist and antisemitic conspiracy theories spewed from the far right, increasingly distributed by major corporate news outlets like Fox News and the extremist politicians their billionaire allies have cultivated.

“We stand in solidarity with our members at PUSH Buffalo and the people of Buffalo tonight. Racist acts like this only strengthen our resolve to build a bigger ‘we’–to create a true multiracial democracy and heal the wounds caused by those who want to divide us.”

People’s Action builds the power of poor and working people in urban, rural, and suburban areas to win change through issue fights and elections. We are a national network of 38 state and local grassroots power-building organizations in 28 states–united in the work of building a bigger “we.” We operate the largest progressive rural organizing project in the country.

About People’s Action

People’s Action is a national network of 40 state and local grassroots, power-building organizations united in fighting for justice. Our organization recently released a vision for a national Homes Guarantee that has already prompted major legislation from champions including U.S. Reps. Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Rashida Tlaib. We operate the largest progressive rural organizing project in the country. Prior to endorsing Sen. Bernie Sanders for president, we completed a national forum series that The Nation called “the most in-depth, people-powered forum” of the 2020 cycle.”
